process
I began by diving into previous years’ branding and speaking about the level of elegance and sophistication they aim for, after speaking with them it was clear they wanted to now appeal to a larger audience. Then seeing the evolving trends in the food and wine scene alongside with the demographic given.
From there I had two paths a more sophisticated or more casual open-ended appearance, as their previous issue seemed to be the branding seemed unreachable and “snobby” I picked the latter. This now created a game of balance, to not become too casual but maintain approachability. There was a decision to focus almost solely on the wine aspect as that is the most significant draw of the event and the namesake. After all that was considered only then did I truly begin my process of sketching and then refined my work.
